From Inside ML: Without risk, there can be no reward. I was meandering through Times Square in New York recently when a billboard caught my eye. It was one of those billboards that is designed to inspire and encourage people to beat the odds, defy their circumstances, and live their dreams. And who was featured on the billboard encouraging people to reach for the stars — to take that leap? None other than Kermit the Frog! (I suppose leaping comes a little bit easier to a frog than it does to us mere mortals.) Initially Kermie seemed to me an odd choice to be a spokesperson for an organization that encourages people to live their best lives. After all, frogs live in swamps and eat flies. Kermit has unusual friends like Big Bird and Fozzie Bear, and we can't overlook his porcine paramour, Miss Piggy. But then I gave it more thought. Despite his peculiar background, Kermit has become a star of stage and screen. He's an author, environmentalist, and talk show host. He holds an honorary doctorate and has a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, and he's even been featured on a postage stamp. Not bad for a frog! (Read More) |
